Day was pretty low-key as we only had a five hour drive that day. We slept in and then headed out to grab our last gumbo before leaving Louisiana. We dropped by the Boudin King on rout to Austin. This place was a spot we would NEVER have found. While it wasn't far off of the main highway it was in a location that had us questioning our GPS because there were no other establishments that we could see. Obviously, we found it and it was an excellent finish to our gumbo run.
Ta da! Boudin King found!
After Boudin King we had a nice 5 hour drive, completing more Game of Thrones. We got into Austin around 4:30pm and dropped by my Miami Theatre pal Kevin's place. He has been kind enough to open his door to us weary travelers and show us a good time.
Our first food stop, well first real Austin stop was at Hut's hamburgers. After wandering around for a bit because Peter wrote down the wrong address, we made it to Hut's for a well earned meal.
Pal Kevin models the delicious burger and pepper onion rings at Hut's. The burgers here were really good. All of us waddled out happy (I'm still thinking of their hickory sauce).
Rating: Lexi: 8 Peter Good Kevin: Eat again.
We didn't do much else on Austin part one. We were all feeling a bit full and sleepy after dinner so we went back to Kevin's for a Community marathon before bed.
Austin adventure to be continued.....
