It was an I-10 day for us. We drove for roughly 10+ hours today from Austin to El Paso for dinner and settling in Deming, New Mexico for the night.
Our GPS with 415 miles to go and an 80mph speed limit. Rock on I-10 W
The desert scenery was beautiful. I missed capturing the sunset because I was driving at the time.
Overall the trip was long but easy as the I-10 is just a strait shoot to our destination. The food today was pretty blah in comparison to what we're used to. Lunch was nice. We stopped and made sandwiches at a picnic table in the middle of the Texas desert. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the cool weather. Dinner was not terrible but we had dropped by El Paso specifically to experience Smitty's BBQ. Sadly, like the offices in Austin, Smitty's was closed on Sunday. Tired and hungry we decided to try our first Whataburger.
My Jr Whataburger. Peter chose the green chili whataburger.
They did their job.
Now fed and sleepy we've got some of Georgie's macaroons to snack on and football to watch. We're thinking about all of our friends back in Oxford, OH who are starting their second semester tomorrow. All the best in the term ahead!
Looks like Tucson, AZ tomorrow!
